Research that ended up on the bench

Alai began as a computer science master's thesis at Aalborg University and became the live analysis layer for professional clubs across Europe.

Our story

Alai started as a computer science master's thesis project at Aalborg University in collaboration with Aalborg BK. The club had a clear challenge: they had invested in tracking data technology but needed better ways to use this data during matches.

Working with the club's analysts and coaching staff, we developed an AI solution that could analyze defensive vulnerabilities in real time, something that was not possible with traditional analysis methods. The project's practical value quickly drew interest from other professional clubs.

Today Alai runs a suite of tactical analysis on live tracking data for clubs and federations across Europe, covering rest defence, pressing, set pieces and line-breaking passes, and delivers the results into the video tools analysts already use. We've turned academic research into tools that hold up on match day.

Our vision

To become the essential platform for real-time football analysis.

Alai aims to set new standards in real-time football analysis. We're focused on making advanced match insights accessible and immediately useful for professional clubs.

Our technology transforms tracking data into clear, practical insights that can be used instantly during matches. By combining AI with football expertise, we help clubs get maximum value from their tracking data without adding complexity to their operations.

We're committed to developing tools that help football professionals make better-informed decisions exactly when they need them, whether that is during live play, at half-time or in match preparation.
